Srinagar, July 21 (PR): Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party and a senior Attorney-at-Law met the senior Hurriyat Leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani who has been detained by J&K government for the past two weeks in a Chasma Shahi Tourist Hut under Public Safety Act, J&K.
Prof. Bhim Singh spent sometime with his old senior legislator in J&K Assembly from 1977 to 1981. Prof. Bhim Singh and Syed Ali Shah Geelani also shared the same prison cell in the eighties with Syed Ali Shah Geelani. Prof. Bhim Singh who is also the Chairman, State Legal Aid Committee, J&K has been champion of the movement, "No detention without trial".
Prof. Bhim Singh also invited Syed Ali Shah Geelani who shares a common platform from the historic Lal Chowk, Srinagar on Wednesday, 28 th July, 2010 so that a genuine political process is launched to mobilize the people’s opinion for the return of democracy, peace and justice.
