Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference led by incarcerated leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani Wednesday reiterated the call for protest and shutdown while as it hailed the village people for collecting and distributing relief among urban citizens.
“The ongoing Kashmir freedom struggle has entered into a decisive phase and the way people are approaching is worth praise,” acting chairman of the Hurriyat Conference (G), Gulam Nabi Sumji, said in a statement to Press Bureau of India.
Sumji hailed the village people for collecting and later distributing the relief among the urban population, the statement added.
Reiterating the call for protests, Sumji urged people to stage sit-ins in every nook and corner tomorrow.
“On Friday, people are urged to stage peaceful protest demonstrations in respective district headquarters after Friday prayers while people in Srinagar are appealed to stage protest at Maisuma near Haji Masjid,” he added. (PBI)
